When you can turn a block of wood into something useful and beautiful, that is art.

Just past Nairobi’s city limits, a once-quiet town has become a busy and bustling little city.  Here, Patrick and his team turn jacaranda wood logs into whimsical creations inspired by Kenya’s famous wildlife.  The jacaranda tree is actually an invasive species brought a century ago by white colonial settlers.  Government initiatives are now in effect to replace jacarandas with indigenous species across Nairobi and its suburbs. Patrick takes pride in the fact that his work makes use of this wood all while bringing jobs to Mlolongo.
